Fees for psychological therapy services are set in accordance with the guidelines set by the British Columbia Psychological Association (BCPA). At present, the fee is $235 per therapeutic hour (50 minutes) and $352.50 for an 80-minute session/intake assessment. Telephone consultation, letter/form completion, and any requested file review will also be invoiced in 15-minute increments.
Psychological assessment services (e.g., psychodiagnostic, personality, addictions related assessments) are billed at a rate of $250.00 per hour. The clinical interview is typically scheduled for 2-3 hours. If a report is requested, report writing time is billed at a rate of $62.50 per 15-minute increment (i.e., $250 per hour). Any letter/form completion and/or requested file review will also be invoiced in 15-minute increments. Please note, the total time to complete an assessment can vary depending on the type of assessment, referral question(s), file review, psychological testing involved, and paperwork/report requirements.
Psychological services for court/legal purposes (psychotherapy, assessment) including specialized assessments (e.g., forensic assessments, violence risk assessments) are billed at a rate of $285.00 per hour (i.e., 50-minute therapy session or assessment/report writing time). Our rates for any court, parole hearing, or other such legal appearances can be discussed upon request.
Highly specialized therapy and assessment services provided by our practice are offered on an advance retainer basis. Please reach out for more information.
Fees for Counselling services provided by a registered clinical counsellor (RCC) are set in accordance with the guidelines provided by the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). At present, the fee is $145 per session. Telephone consultation, letter/form completion, and any requested file review will also be invoiced in 15-minute increments.
Payment for services is required on the day of your appointment and/or upon receipt of an invoice for report/letter completion. E-transfer to info@positivechangehealth.ca is the accepted method of payment for services. If preferred, we can charge the credit card you have on file, although a small transaction fee will be added.
After payment is received, an electronic receipt will be emailed to you, usually within 24hrs. If you have extended health benefits, you may be able to submit the receipt for partial or full reimbursement. You may also be able to claim any non-reimbursed fees as medical expenses on your income tax return.
We currently offer direct billing for ICBC clients, Veterans Affairs and RCMP (through MedaVie/Pacific Blue Cross) and BCEHS clients (Pre-Authorization required). Please reach out for more information.
